My school is one of those technology and arts schools. So you would expect computers that turn on and are connected to the network and what have you. Yet somehow our techno-savvy (is that even a word?) school cannot do that.

I sat down in the design computer room and pressed the power button. Nothing. I pressed it again. Still nothing. So I move to another computer. Press the power button and the computer starts to wirr. I sit back and wait for it to load.

5 minutes later and the computer screen is still blank. Silly me, I hadn’t turned the screen on. Nope it wasn’t even connected to the computer! The screen lights up with the log on screen and I type in my username and password. I sat there for 15 minutes wondering why it wasn’t letting me log on, thinking I hadn’t got my username or password right. It wasn’t even connected to the school network!

So I moved to another computer and spent what was rest of the lesson which was now 20 minutes waiting for the seriously slow computer to turn on, log me on and open photoshop. Wait no, it can’t do that. It doesn’t have any software on!

It’s not like there were any signs to say the computers weren’t working. They are slower than a snail and have the oldest software known to man on there!
I cannot see computers taking over the world in the future. As least not the ones at our school! Half the staff can’t even work them! Ok not half the staff, but still! I had to tell one of the IT technicians how to fix one of the computers the other day!

Phew! Rant over. I just basically sat in the computer room for the whole lesson doing nothing!
As you can see I have the new layout which I have been working on! I’m not sure how I feel about it. What do you think?
